Where to start? Today I don't know where to start.
There's so much to tell about this car.
I'm in the Audi S3, the sporty brother, sister, wife, husband; whatever.
It's German, so male. The A3's sporty brother.
I was positive about the A3.
A nice finish, the steering is good, so what does the S3 add?
Well, 118 things compared to the current A3: 118 hp.
Pounding horses that really go for it.
The 2-liter turbo engine we know from the old S3, a great car as well.
In this day and age, 296 hp doesn't seem much, but it didn't disappoint.
We drove it on the Autobahn, at high speeds.
Not just 100 mph, which we Dutch folk think is exciting.
On the Autobahn, speeds over 125 mph are fun.
It still has power left at 137 mph, uphill as well.
The engine defines the S3. Fantastic.
Quattro, of course. It's the A3 S-model; the S3, not the RS3.
That one will probably come as well, with another brilliant 5-cylinder.
That means one thing: it's more neutral.
When you enter a corner too fast and give more throttle, ...
you'll feel something's about to happen.
Slowly it'll slide over its front wheels, ...
and it feels like it wants to slide over all four, ...
so we had to test this on a deserted parking lot.
This showed us it has more of a four wheel drift ...
rather than sliding its rear out, which would have me counter-steer.
Maybe this will happen in the snow, but not under normal circumstances.
Audi's finish is always brilliant, in this S3 as well.
Black leather with red inserts, red stitching and pretty satnav.
Everything looks smooth.
It feels durable, which it doesn't have to be, but it feels that way.
It makes you feel good, which is the car's goal.
If you want to get rid of that good feeling, you should hit the gas ...
and brake late for the T-junction. I thought it would go wrong.
It's moist, which shows this car is faster than you or me anticipated.
It's really fast. 0-62 mph in 4.8 secs is fast.
What does it cost? No one knows.
Judge the sound yourself, but I think it has an inspiring sound.
It's nice. Here it shifts down.
A nice grumble. Some hate the DSG thud when you shift, but I like it.
The competition: the A45 AMG with an extra 59 hp.
Some say it's just as fuel efficient.
There's also the BMW M135i, which is quite ugly.
The S3 is more fitting.
The M135i has RWD, but doesn't drift well.
This car will get my vote.
Until we've driven the A45 AMG, which may be so much better.
