Ddt 2013 Day 1 - James bond 007

DDT 2012 was a huge success and a big improvement since DDT 2011. Though we wanted to overthrow 2012 even more. It did not take long before we had a theme. This year our theme is Movies and we have chosen it for several reasons. In the past “Movies” was already an idea to be made which was declined and all members of DDT are watching movies which gave the opportunity to make their favorite movies in domino. In the beginning there were 5 movies but this became 6 because the 6th movie will be part of the Challenge. All other ideas such as Star Wars, Batman, Pirats of the Caribbean or Indiana Jones were cancelled because there were difficult to make or already used many times. We have chosen these 6 movies also because they represent the movie-industry technology which became more advanced every decade. That’s why we have chosen for 6 different, very amazing movies to be build in domino. Firstly, we looked at the details of every movie. Once we agree with an idea, the project is going to be made in a pre-state which gives an impression of how it would be in real. After that it will be detailed and/or constructed. The detail depends on the space of the project or how many stones there will be used. With an Excel program (like from TimDomino) these detail-projects can be calculated from each color. Then the project will be announced one more time to make sure we want to build it. If so, the project is ready to be sorted. One person will calculate the amount of stones and will use them from the person who has these stones. When the project is sorted, it is ready to be build. Some projects need to be tested because of their technique or impression. Mostly when the projects are build they will look better than on screen. The first movie of DDT 2013 is a classic, James Bond. For already 50 years these movies are famous for many generations and it always has been the best-watched movie ever. Because this is the most classic movie, we have chosen to build it in domino. We show a lot of things like the “007” symbol, the first pistol used and the casino. On every movie there is one project that makes a grand finale of the subtheme. At James Bond it will be project Skyfall. Skyfall is at the moment the newest movie were his life is completely upside-down. It is combined with a scene from “A view to a kill” were 007 is following the bad guy it the Eiffel Tower. The project goes like this: 007 climbs the Eiffel Tower (over 2 meters) and will go down in a bungee-jump which represents Skyfall. The bungeejump will just touch a round panel which will trigger a circle field which represents the gunbarrel-intro’s.
